JOB SUMMARY

 

Assists and supports management with the co-ordination and administration related to Talent Programs within the region. Works with the Talent Acquisition Manager to select and develop the right candidates for internal development, ensuring progress is tracked, candidates can be assessed for readiness and are supported along their journey.

Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, managing application workflow; create and maintain filing systems; database loading and management; compile reports; create presentations; assist with hotel school/university presentations & career fairs; assist with annual interviews and assessments; handle day-to-day program related queries, support management to train new hires on talent program policies and procedures; conduct research as required; answer phone calls and record messages etc.

 

The incumbent will be required to follow all company policies and procedures; ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information. Speak with others using clear and professional language; prepare and review written documents accurately and completely; answer telephones using appropriate etiquette. Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others; support team to reach common goals; listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.

 

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience

  • 3-year degree from an accredited university in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related major.

  • No supervisory experience is required.

  • Previous experience within a hotel as a HR Co-Coordinator / Administrator is advantageous.

  • Previous experience and/or strong interest in the field of talent development programs is advantageous.

  • Advanced working knowledge of MS Excel, MS Word and MS PowerPoint.

  • Must have excellent spoken and written business English language comprehension and accurate typing with excellent spelling and grammar.

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

Handle all development and talent program related administration.

 

 

Youth development programs i.e. Accelerate; Bursary Program etc.

  • Receive all application documentation and follow up on any outstanding information

  • Compile application information in consolidated reports

  • Arrange and schedule annual interviews

  • Support and arrange trainee and bursary WIL practical placements

  • Compile, distribute and receive back contracts, transfer documentation etc.

  • Provide university/culinary school with trainee registration paperwork

  • Distribute university/culinary school invoices to hotels and follow up on payments

  • Trainee workbook management

  • Distribution, loading on the database and filing of university/culinary school results

  • Assist and support graduates with seeking and finding permanent employment

  • Arrange Accelerate graduation

  • Support hotels, human resources, trainees and students with queries

  • Social media management of the Accelerate page

  • Updates MGS page as required with up to date and attractive content

  • Create and maintain filing systems

  • Database loading and management

  • Request, receive and process invoices

  • Alumni tracking

Internal high potential programs i.e. Marriott Careers etc.

  • Promotes and informs hotels about internal development programs

  • Compiles nominee information received from hotels into presentations for review and selection

  • Liaises with HR and Operational leaders on nominee selections

  • Arranges and coordinates opening workshops; and liaises with nominees and hotel leaders with regards to workshops

  • Supports hotels in leading the program

  • Support hotels and candidates with queries

  • Ensures candidate completion of Development Plans

  • Ensures Development Plans are SMART

  • Ensures completion of all assessments during assessment periods

  • Coordinates and arranges mentor requests and queries

  • Follows up with candidates on development

  • Reports out the HR and Operational leaders about candidate progress on a regular basis

  • Arranges and coordinates closing workshops and graduations

  • Alumni tracking

OTHER DUTIES

  • Assist with hotel school/university presentations & career fairs

  • Coordinates and implements work and projects as assigned.

  • Complies with local government laws applying to procedures.

  • Generates and provides accurate and timely results in the form of reports, presentations, etc.

  • Analyzes information and evaluates results to choose the best solution and solve problems.

  • Manages the flow of questions and directs questions.

  • Informs, updates, and provides information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person in a timely manner.

  • Attends and participates in all relevant meetings.

  • Presents ideas, expectations and information in a concise, organized manner.
