Requirements: Matric with Diploma and at least two years relevant experience in a university administrative/research environment. The successful candidate must have strong interpersonal and administrative skills knowledge of University policies and processes relating to research a high level of computer literacy, excellent communication, planning and organising ability. S/he should be able to work as part of a team, but also able to display initiative, attention to detail, work strategically and independently with limited supervision. Inter-cultural tolerance and empathy is essential. Previous experience in a similar role would be a definite advantage. The main purpose of the role is to provide administrative services for research processes and activities in the School. This includes tracking and reporting of research outputs, providing information to researchers about research resources and funding opportunities, assisting in compiling funding applications and assisting in managing research projects. The incumbent must liaise with academics and students to ensure timely submission of the student applications for ethical clearance of research proposals to the Ethics Committee.
