Duties & Responsibilities

  • Open shop each day and see to it that all safety procedures are met
  • Do preparation work in shop before officially opening for the day
  • Do walk about in shop to ensure everything is in order
  • Daily management of Cashier/Packers in shop
  • Deal with problems regarding employees and/or clients
  • Whenever problems occur with Cashier ring up regarding incorrect items, correct it through void with Retail Manager consent
  • Check and deal with short dated stock in the shop
  • Ensure stock rotation is done regularly
  • Check for any damages that must be replaced
  • Maintain and monitor shop inventory – ensure that there is always enough stock in the shop and on display
  • Ensure that the shop is always neat and tidy inside and outside
  • Do daily price checks to ensure that they are correct
  • Conduct regular audits of the shop’s physical and practical conditions to ensure quality
  • Ensure that all cashiers do cash ups before closing at the end of each day
  • Client satisfaction is of utmost importance – keep the client happy
  • Ensure that all health and safety requirements, policies and procedures are always complied with and prioritized

Desired Experience & Qualification

  • Experience within a retail environment or assistant management will be an advantage
  • Have a valid Matric Certificate & a tertiary Diploma will be an advantage
  • Knowledge of OHSA Act
  • Be bilingual
  • Be customer orientated and assertive
  • Be accurate and have attention to detail
  • Good communication skills & Interpersonal skills
