Specialist: ICT Web Developer ( 6 Months Fixed-Term Contract)

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To develop solutions through the development of web applications as well as to provide support to existing applications and integrate new technologies into system designs for the SABS.

Productivity

  • Develop user-friendly .NET-based web applications and applications frameworks as required
  • Analyze user needs to determine requirements and conduct systems analysis and develop web – based applications as per BU SLA’s
  • Create site layout/user interfaces from design concepts by using standard XHTML / HTML / CSS practices and facilitate programming and .NET development
  • Manage, design and implement applications and web based services and ensure application – database integration
  • Review all programmes prior to implementation to verify consistency and conformance with processes and policies
  • Perform problem analysis, acceptance testing and program implementation for systems and/or projects
  • Manage, test, enhance and maintain new and existing web applications
  • Implement coding for development, maintenance, and functionality updates
  • Build and refine graphic designs for websites
  • Convert raw images and layouts from graphic design into CSS / XHTML / HTML themes

Customer/ Stakeholder

  • Provide efficient communication to all key stakeholders regarding process implementation and progress
  • Alert stakeholders to emerging technologies or applications and the opportunities to integrate them into current operations
  • Produce and/or update system documentation and reports for all changes made to systems and ensure key stakeholders are updated accordingly
  • Provide reports and status updates as required

Growth

  • Manage web based applications and develop placement and layout of web site pages and content according to time, cost and quality objectives
  • Create and execute project work plans according to budget and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements
  • Develop and maintain document control administration to ensure cost reduction and record management best practice
  • Conduct the full software development lifecycle including analysis, design, implementation, and testing according to time, cost and quality objectives
  • Identify system deficiencies and implement solutions to proactively manage ease-of-use interfacing and cost reduction practices

Competent and empowered employees

  • Develop end-user skills and leadership in technical application through conducting workshops and training
  • Manage end-user technical support for all web applications across the SABS value chain

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • B. Degree/ National Diploma in ICT or an equivalent qualification
  • Working knowledge of web graphics design. Photoshop, fireworks, visual studio, SharePoint designer and or equivalent development applications is essential
  • Understanding of the software development lifecycle with the ability to analyze, design, implement, test and provide technical support is essential
  • Minimum 6 years’ relevant work experience in developing web applications, SharePoint applications and Nintex workflows
  • Work exposure in C# and ANET HTML (5), XHTML, JavaScript, MSSQL, Oracle, JQuery, CSS is preferred
  • Object oriented programming and competence in related development techniques is essential
  • Proven track record in working on both intranet and extranet design projects
  • Proven track record in creating and implementing complex web applications
