My client in the telecommunications industry based in Midrand is urgently looking for a Senior Specialist: Cyber Security Business Intelligence to be responsible for eliciting, analyzing and organizing cyber security data and information that supports the cyber security strategy and IT risk alleviation.

Responsible for continually analyzing and reporting on cyber security capabilities, including privacy strategy, governance, compliance, IT Risk, Security testing, security technology and services with data and information analytics. Cyber security business intelligence will provide insight to the various facets of Cyber Security services from multiple data sources to create Cyber Security reports, KPIs and KRIs used by the Cyber Security department and other departments that rely in information and data from cyber security capabilities and services.

Support assurance services by ensuring that all data and information required for assurance purposes is available at the appropriate coverage

In order to be considered the following is required:

Qualifications:

Degree / relevant tertiary qualification in Information technology or Informatics Very good knowledge of BI tools and software
Experience with Agile software development practices
Extensive expertise in Microsoft aligned BI and data technologies (SQL, SSRS and PowerBI)
A solid understanding of cyber security, assurance and privacy techniques
Knowledge of common information technology management / compliance frameworks such as ISO/IEC 27001, SOC 2, SOX, ITIL, COBIT, and NIST
Knowledge of legal, regulatory and privacy requirements, such as Personally Identifiable Information (PII) Protection and Payment Card Industry (PCI) / Data Security Standard
Proven experience managing and operating multiple security programs, projects, and initiatives
An ability to think strategically and drive change
A deep understanding of Cyber Security risks and mitigating solutions
A diverse security background with knowledge in several cyber security tools including; firewalls; VPN technologies, IDS / IPS, network access control and network segmentation, anti-malware and spam technologies, SIEM, IAM, PAM; risk and vulnerability assessments and compliance tools
Windows, UNIX and Linux operating systems
Practices and methods of enterprise architecture and security architecture
Network security architecture development and definition
Ability to work under time and resource pressure
An ability and desire to communicate and work with a broad set of stakeholders
A customer-focused, responsive and transparent attitude
Highly Desirable: Industry Security certifications, such as COBIT, TOGAF, ITIL, CRISC, CISSP are strongly preferred coupled with Business intelligence related working experience
Experience required:

Minimum of 10-12 years of experience in Cyber Security Business intelligence or Cyber Security Governance , Risk Assurance and compliance, or related Business Intelligence reporting
Minimum of 10-12 years of work experience in information security / cybersecurity and Cloud Security (1 year)
Strong analytical and organizational skills
Concise writing skills, excellent MS Word skills as well as other MS Office Applications
Experience in working across security frameworks
Experience in working across security technologies
Managed security services experience across complex architectures
Experience in security systems, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, anti-virus software, authentication systems, log management and content filtering
Experience with network security and networking technologies and with system, security, and network monitoring tools
Possess very good knowledge of technological advances within the information security area
Understanding of the latest security principles, techniques,
Familiarity with web related technologies (Web applications, Web Services, Service Oriented Architectures) and of network / web related protocols.
Problem solving skills and ability to work under pressure
Demonstrate in depth solution and service knowledge
Demonstrate analytical thinking and a proactive approach

Responsibilities:

Responsible for planning, researching and designing robust security architectures for Cyber Security consumption with strong emphasis being on hybrid related designs (mixture of on-prem and cloud based)
Ensure financial efficiency in Cyber Security Solutions
Provide Cyber Security consultancy for Technology projects
Engineering, implementing and monitoring security measures for the protection of computer systems, networks and information
Identifying and defining system security requirements
Prepare and document standard operating procedures and protocols for solutions within the security engineer’s purview
Configure and troubleshoot security infrastructure devices (where relevant)
Develop technical solutions and new security tools to help mitigate security vulnerabilities and automate repeatable tasks
Write comprehensive reports including assessment-based findings, outcomes and propositions for further system security enhancement
Provide accurate and timely reporting of architectural solutions, risk findings and propose remediation and mitigation options
