A minimum of Grade 12 or equivalent of NQF level 4 qualifications, A Grade “C” PSIRA qualifications, Grade ‘’B’’ and/or ‘’A’’ PSIRA qualification will be an added advantage. 2– 5 years’ experience in security operation and administration. No criminal records or case pending against you. Willingness to work irregular hours and shifts (Day/Night including weekends and holidays) due to the nature of the job. Ability to work independently and in a team. Must be able to understand and execute regulations and policies, be professionalism, Detail oriented, client oriented, proactive, ability to follow instructions, ability prioritize and perform multiple tasks simultaneously. Knowledge and skills: Knowledge of Security legislations, policies and procedures, Public Service Regulations, Access Control Procedure, Safety Precautions, Security Registers, Batho Pele Principles, MISS Policy, good customer management skills, good communication (verbal and written), interpersonal skills, problem solving skills and time management. Duties: Ensure protection of DCS Head Office building, assets, visitors and its employees. Oversee/execute access control functions and monitor movements within the building, Operate X-ray machines, identify suspicious conduct, ensure that all DCS assets leaving the building are registered and authorized by relevant sub directorate. Ensure that unauthorised persons and dangerous objects do not enter the building/premises, and allow visitors/contractors into the building as per direction of security management, provide effective control room operation and CCTV monitoring. Ensure that all incidents are recorded in the occurrence books/register. Ensure that all registers are kept up to date during shifts. Monitor the working conditions of all security equipment and report any faults thereof. Co-ordinate the handover of shifts, patrolling, escorting, documenting and reporting of incidents. Supervise and develop staff. Compile and allocate security personnel by drafting the duty roaster for the security personnel. Monitor daily inspection for security, health, safety risks, unauthorized removal of equipment, documents and stores from building or premises in the building, Ensure the monitoring and safeguarding of the parking area.
