What will you do?

 

This is a specialist role that manages operational risk and ensures compliance to legislation within the business by maintaining, monitoring and reporting on governances set.  Key responsibilities include;

 

• Understand and inform the business on relevant legislation impacting operations
• Collaboratively set KRI/metrics/targets for affected business processes with business process owners
• Maintenance and execute the Compliance Risk Management Plan
• Undertake monitoring and testing processes according to the CRMP utilising best practices to optimise efficiency (i.e.: automation)
• Report findings, communicate and manage exceptions with management
• Manage key stakeholder relationships
• Contribute to projects

What will make you successful in this role?

 

Qualification & experience

• Grade 12
• Qualification in auditing/commerce/law/business or risk management
• Risk management/compliance and governance experience
• 3-5 years’ experience in financial services environment
• Experience in developing systems of governance, KRI setting would be advantageous 

Knowledge and skills

IT:
• MS: Excel (Intermediate – Advanced), Word, PP, Outlook, Access
• Visio, or similar
• Interest in data analytics tools such as SQL/Python/ Linux
• ACL or similar audit tools
• BI tools
• MIS

 

Business:
• MWL business operating model and processes
• Database management and analytics/data storage/transformation
• Regulatory compliance related to financial Services (POPIA, FICA, FAIS, PPR, Insurance Act, GOI, TCF etc).)
• Risk and governance management principles and practices
• Reporting
• Auditing processes
• Risk management systems
• Project management
