PLANNER: VOLATILE STORES Vacancies

Description

Maximise identified trading opportunities in volatile stores by providing accurate forecasts of customer demand through management by exception and optimising inventory management through the supply chain within defined parameters.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Ideally 2 to 3 years planning experience in FMCG
  • Stores’ experience would be an advantage
  • Retail or business related tertiary qualification would be an advantage
  • Must be in possession of a valid driver’s license
  • Travelling will be required and may be required to work weekends where necessary
  • Computer literacy and competent excel skills
  • Ability to influence others, and build and sustain relationships with individuals across functional teams
  • Team player – ability to work effectively and interdependently with diverse team members
  • Proactive – ability to anticipate events and plan for them in detail
  • Problem solving skills – ability to identify problems and recommend effective solutions
  • Effective influencing / assertive communication skills and the ability to manage conflict

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

  • Maximise the trading opportunities within the product category for the volatile stores and deliver to a set of KPI’s
  • Review performance and adjust levers to deliver to a set of KPI’s in line with the agreed targets for the focus stores
  • Understand internal and external factors which impact demand and ensure these are reflected in the forecasts
  • Identify challenges, trends and opportunities and troubleshoot accordingly
  • Understand and optimize supply chain and systems
  • Communicate with internal and external stakeholders to maximize trade
  • Build and develop relationships with the category planning manager, planners, assortment and space team to ensure two-way communication and alignment in understanding of strategy as well as short term focuses
  • Provide input into Assortment and Space Planning based on store category performance to facilitate decision making and profitable stock management
  • Build and develop relationships with stores to ensure stock levels meet customer demand and store KPIs are achieved and sustainable
  • Provide insight into the local event calendar for seasonal events and external influences on trade
  • Optimize profitability through effective analysis and reporting
