Duties & Responsibilities

Minimum Requirements:

4 year qualification in Finance or commerce

CA (SA)- non- negotiable

Registered with accounting professional body e.g. SAICA

Develops an Integrated Plan that supports Business Strategies and enables Delivery of Business Imperatives Budgeting, Cost Analysis and Reporting

Budgeting
Co-ordinate and compile the relevant financial aspects of the annual budget (3 year budget):
Prepare and distribute budget guidelines for review by business unit
representatives
Hold meetings with Heads of Business units for clarification
Follow-up the progress within each business unit and address any queries
Collate applicable data from the relevant sources
Compile the budget in accordance with policies, procedures and budgetary
guidelines to reflect:
Income
Expenditure
Taxation
Quality check the entered budget to ensure accuracy and integrity of the information
Compile consolidated budget (including commentary) for Exco and Board approval after reviews by Senior Manager and CFO are complete
Oversee the loading of budgets on to the SAP platform
Cost Analysis and Reporting
Use SAP modules as a framework, applying discretion in identifying the level of detail required to compile monthly reports
Review monthly reports for business units (monthly) and monitor variances (actual vs budget)
Interpret and comment on reasons for variances
Produce monthly report pack for management
Review and validate monthly reports for external parties
Review reports for internal management (e.g. ALCO & EXCO)
Liaise with financial accounting to obtain accurate information for reporting purposes
Fund Reporting (7 Funds)
Attend stakeholder meetings between the Land Bank and respective fund investors.
Monitor and oversee accounting entries processed in respect of the funds

Develops an Integrated Plan that supports Business Strategies and enables Delivery of Business Imperatives
Review and interpret the monthly, quarterly and annual reports produced to ensure accuracy and provide commentary
Submit reports to Operations for comment and subsequent submission to fund investors
Ensure compliance with all Memoranda of Understanding
Review/update the notes and commentary on the funds in the AFSs.

Compilation of sections of the Annual Financial Statements and Corporate Plan
Annual Financial Statements
Analyse the annual performance of the Group
Prepare a write-up on the Group performance including accompanying graphs
Liaise with auditors in areas of responsibility
Corporate Planning
Collate information on the Corporate vision/strategy including targets for a three year period as articulated by the Executive Team Model the data in excel for scenario assessments for consideration by the Senior Manager and CFO before EXCO discussions and approval
Prepare commentary relating to the observed trends and impact on business for review by the Senior Manager and CFO before approval by Exco and the Board Assist the National Treasury on queries relating to the Corporate Plan figures

Authorise electronic payments
Receive payments from the Finance and Administration business unit duly validated and authorised by respective business unit leaders per applicable DOP.
Review documentation for proper authorisation in terms of DOP to effect payment.
Review supporting documents and captured data per payment procedure
Release funds from designated bank accounts to vendors/clients

Commercial Credit Committee meetings
Attend CCC meetings and contribute to the decision making process in granting credit in a sustainable manner

Performance Management
Analyse the business plan to determine the applicable deliverables and targets
Compile the Performance Management documentation in collaboration with the staff member in terms of:

Personal Development Plan
Conduct performance planning session and Track and monitor performance in
accordance with performance contracts
Conduct performance reviews in accordance with policies and procedures and take corrective actions where necessary
Provide coaching and feedback to employees on how to improve and sustain their performance
