We are looking for an experienced GM to control and oversee all business operations, people and ventures. You will be the highest ranking manager in the organisation and will be responsible for the overall success of the business. This role will suit a strong sales personality.
The ideal candidate will be a strong sales leader, with proven sales strategy execution and a leader able to steer the company to the most profitable direction while also implementing its vision, mission and long term goals.
The goal is to ensure the company is constantly moving towards fulfilling its short-term and long-term objectives and does not diverge from its strategic guidelines.
Develop and execute the company’s business strategies in order to attain the goals of the board and shareholders
Provide strategic advice to the board and Chairperson so that they will have accurate view of the market and the company’s future
Prepare and implement clear go to market sales plans to grow market share
Prepare and implement comprehensive business plans to facilitate achievement by planning cost-effective operations and market development activities
Ensure company policies and legal guidelines are communicated all the way from the top down in the company and that they are followed at all times
Communicate and maintain trust relationships with shareholders, business partners and authorities
Design and implement comprehensive marketing strategies to create awareness of the company’s business activities
Produce ideas for promotional events or activities and organize them efficiently
Plan and execute campaigns for corporate promotion, launching of new product lines etc.
Monitor progress and submit performance reports
Conduct general market research to keep abreast of trends and competitor’s marketing movements
Control budgets and allocate resources amongst projects
Become the organization’s agent towards external parties such as media, stakeholders and potential clients and build strategic partnerships
Education & Experience
B.Com or related degree , majoring in Business management/ Marketing
Minimum of 3 – 5 years’ experience in a senior management role with full P&L responsibility
Sales and Marketing experience
Proven track record in managing cost-efficient supply chain (Demand & supply planning, purchasing, warehousing, fleet management, logistics, customs)
Leadership skills – managed a team >50 people
This role is specifically for candidates that have worked in a General Manager or National Sales Manager capacity within the Industrial goods or fast moving products space. You must have a demonstrable sales track record. Please note that you will not be considered if you do not meet the above minimum criteria.
