  • Job Title: Domestic Assistant

    Reporting to: Housekeeper

    Job purpose: To work as part of a team to maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene within the Bubez Guest house , whilst ensuring a safe, comfortable environment at all times.

    Experience/qualification in care for relevant Service User category
    Main responsibilities


    Daily cleaning
    Empty waste bins and wipe out
    Vacuum throughout
    Shake out cushions
    Clean dining rooms/lounges/toilets
    Clean taps and sinks
    Clean soap dispenser outlets
    Clean toothbrush holders
    Spot clean all floorings
    Wash all bathroom/toilet/en-suite floors
    Weekly cleaning
    Polish all mirrors
    Clean all pipe work in toilets
    Dust handrails and radiators
    Move all mobile furniture (including beds and chairs) and vacuum and dust beneath/behind
    Wash out metal wastepaper bins
    Dust and polish furniture and windowsills
    Wash lino floors
    Shampoo carpets as requested by Housekeeper
    Week oneDust light bulbs and fittings
    Week two Dust curtain rails
    Week three Dust pictures
    Week four En-suites deep clean
    Restock toiletries, soaps, towels etc as and when required

    Participate in Staff and Service User meetings as required
    Complete all relevant documentation
    Training and Development

    Maintain and improve professional knowledge and competence.
    Attend mandatory training days/course, on or off site as and when required
    Health & Safety

    Adhere to the Care Centres disposal of waste policy
    Report immediately to the Hotel Manager or Person in Charge
    Understand, and ensure the implementation of the Care Centres Health & Safety policy and Emergency and Fire procedures
    Report to the Hotel Manager, Housekeeper, Handyperson or Person in Charge any faulty appliances, damaged furniture equipment or any potential hazard
    Promote safe working practice in the Bubez Centre

    Ensure that all existing stocks are maintained in a safe and tidy environment
    Ensure that all information of confidential nature gained in the course of duty is not divulged to third parties
    Notify the Hotel Manager or Person in Charge as soon as possible of your inability to report for duty and also on your return to work from all periods of absence
    Promote and ensure the good reputation of the Care Centre and Bubez
    Ensure the security of the Care Centre is maintained at all times
    Adhere to all Company policies and procedures within the defined timescales
    Ensure all equipment is clean and well maintained
    Carry out any other tasks that may be reasonably assigned to you
