Currently we are searching for a Desktop support Engineer for Durban, South Africa.

Responsibilities of this Post:

  1. Provide technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to computer systems, software, and hardware.
  2. Maintain daily performance of computer systems.
  3. Write training manuals.
  4. Respond to queries either in person or over the phone.
  5. Train computer users.
  6. Ask questions to determine nature of problem.
  7. Respond to email messages for customers seeking help.
  8. Walk customer through problem-solving process.
  9. Install, modify, and repair computer hardware and software.
  10. Resolve technical problems with Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), and other systems.
  11. Run diagnostic programs to resolve problems.
  12. Install computer peripherals for users.
  13. Run reports to determine malfunctions that continue to occur.
  14. Follow up with customers to ensure issue has been resolved.

Requirements of this Post:

  1. A+ certification or equivalent years of experience.
  2. Experience in resolving the most complex technical issues including hardware, software and network support.
  3. Superior multi-tasking skills and a high level of resourcefulness.
  4. High degree of professionalism and strong personal interaction skills.
  5. Extensive experience responding to onsite service requests and trouble incidents.
  6. A high degree of flexibility and the ability to positively respond to changes in work requirements and work flow.
  7. Solid documentation skills.
  8. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  9. Ability to complete assignments with minimal supervision.
