API and Integration Analyst (contract)

The purpose of this positon is to provide structure and guidance for creating and maintaining software applications, subsystems, interfaces and components in order to meet desired functional and non-functional requirements. Consult to project teams and clients to deliver customer-centric solutions that meet enterprise standards and project performance criteria. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with busy, high performing teams. Demonstrate consistent commitment to core company values.

Key Responsibilities and/or output areas include, but are not limited to:
Understand client business landscape and requirements
Identify and assess technology requirements
Insights on key methodologies, approaches and market trends in the industry
Well-developed analytical skills and the ability to provide clarity to complex issues and synthesize large amounts of information.
An ability to articulate and clearly communicate complex problems and solutions in a simple and logical manner
Designing solutions to meet client’s business requirements
Managing and running of IT governance process with the respective artifact generation
A good understanding of API’s and integration of API’s (Conceptually and from an implementation perspective)
Experience in different security standards when developing and integrating into services
Understand IT strategies, policies, standards, and work practices to effectively implement them
Provide training to others and document changes and procedures
Exercise sound judgment and make independent decisions
Ability to work efficiently under pressure, drive projects to completion and meet deadlines
Flexibility and the ability to adapt quickly to shifting company or team goals
Strong business acumen, including problem-solving and critical thinking

Modelling and Documentation 
Document ‘as is’ state of current technical specification based on current systems landscape
Documenting Technical designs which includes (CSA’s, LSO’s, HLD’s and Component Designs)
Document ‘to be’ state of technical specification aligned with desired business objective
Ensure to maintain updated technical documentation and reports as required
Document and review systems integration test cases
Data modelling
Business process modelling

Conduct Systems Integration Testing
Perform test cases
Define clear acceptance criteria
Test case management and reporting
Defect logging

Problem Identification & Resolution
Defect Investigation
Conduct root cause analysis
Document findings and resolution plan

Education
Matric
BDegree in Computer Science or Engineering or related field would be advantageous

 

Experience and Skills
5 or more years’ systems analysis experience focused on API projects, preferably obtained within the financial services or banking industry
Exposure to a wide variety of platforms and multiple integrated systems
2 or more years’ software development experience
Visio or similar
Exposure to and understanding of SQL, C#, Java, Angular, native Application development and other development languages
Excellent verbal and written communication with customers, dev teams, and executive management
Experience writing user stories and working within an agile development environment preferred
Enterprise Architecture
Quality Management
Risk Management
Stakeholder Management
Experience with tools such as Confluence and Jira would be advantageous
