Hospital Theatre Scheduling Clerk

A Grade 12 or equivalent qualification is required Solid knowledge of Patient Admin programs on AS400 and competency of up to level 1 coding best endeavour Previous experience in Theatre environment Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite and computer literacy is essential Willingness to work shifts in accordance with the requirements of the unit Basic Anatomy and terminology knowledge is required Good accuracy and attention to detail skills, with excellent planning skills and the ability to communicate on all levels Follows instructions and adheres to procedures Builds trusting relationships by consistently valuing and respecting others through fulfilling commitments Prioritises time and organises resources through co-ordination and feedback Maintains a client-focused mind set that acknowledges the value of the customer Adapts own behaviour to work as part of a team Takes responsibility for achieving objectives

To ensure that all pre-booked cases are scheduled correctly to mitigate operational and financial risks to the hospital Maintain theatre slates to ensure optimal theatre utilisation Ensure timeous distribution of theatre lists to all relevant parties as per the Patient Administration Manual Liaise with various medical staff and doctors rooms when required Allocate wards to booked cases , to allow wards to allocate and utilise available beds as per wards requirements Performs all relevant administrative duties Maintains client service principles to ensure client expectations are met
