Pollution and Waste Management
R272 739.00 – R473 574.00 per annum plus benefits (offer will be based on appropriate and recognizable experience in line with the OSD requirements).
Grade 12 plus Bachelor Degree (NQF Level 7) National Diploma (NQF Level 6) as recognized by SAQA in Environmental Management or Natural Science fields. Valid Driver’s License. COMPETENCIES: Knowledge of National Environmental Management Act ,1998(Act No 107 of 1998) as amended and National Environmental Management: Waste Act, 2008 (Act No.59 of 2008) as amended. Experience in Waste Management field. A valid driver’s license.
Review and draft Waste Management License. Provide technical input on EIA applications.Process the registration certificates and authorizations as per Gauteng Waste Information Regulations, 2004 and Gauteng Health Care Waste Management Regulations, 2004. Process registration applications in terms of National Norms and Standards for Storage of General Waste, 2013 and the National Norms and Standards for Sorting, Shredding, Grinding, Crushing, Screening or Baling of General Waste, 2017. Manage waste management stakeholder relations and enquiries. Provide comments to other directorates and on draft regulations and policies. Conduct site visits and prepare site visit reports. Maintain various waste management data-bases. Assist in compliance promotion and contribute to law reform.
