KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS
Providing strategic guidance and managing the Finance team of Okavango Wilderness Safaris Pty Ltd and its related companies’.
Perform month-end, interim and year end procedures ensuring that deadlines are strictly adhered to.
General Ledger (GL) account reconciliations and analysis of key balance sheet and income statement account balance movements.
Lead annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting and strategic plan updates.
Ensure all accounting activities comply with International Financial Reporting Standards and existing controls.
Responsible for the statutory filing and tax reporting of all the relevant entities.
Management and administration of intercompany financial transactions among group entities.
Oversee and execute on the annual external financial audit process.
Coordinate and carry out the HRDC reimbursement process.
Prepare all the accounting reports and provide support for the non-profit wing of the business.
On time submission of monthly accounts, along which includes:
Working capital management including preparation and reviewing of cash available reports as well as preparation monthly cash flow forecasts.
Tax compliance including preparation and submission of all relevant tax returns (VAT, WHT, Income Tax, deferred tax calculations.)
Preparation and review of cash availability reports and monthly cash flows.
Management of the project accounting process and maintaining up to date fixed asset registers.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
7-10 years’ relevant experience with at least 5 years’ experience at a managerial level with total responsibility for the complete financial reporting function.
Accounting degree plus professional accounting qualification (CA, ACCA, CIMA etc.)
A BICA member in good standing.
Advanced excel and financial modeling skills.
Previous experience with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains (GP) and/or business intelligence software is strongly preferred.
Experience in the travel and tourism industry will be an added advantage.
Working/practical knowledge of Botswana Companies Act, Income Tax, VAT and other statutory deductions.
Ability to compute taxes per BURS requirements is compulsory.
Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships with all stakeholders
