Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Dark Room Operator. This position is based at Durban, KwaZulu-Natal.
Maintain the artwork filing system (up to date Composites, Posies, Laser, Spec sheet, in good condition)
Liaising with the Graphics designer with regards to new development artwork folders
Pull and issue artwork folders to darkroom
Make up printing screens to customer specification using stretching, exposure, wash out and touch up procedures.
Flexographic plate mounting.
Reclaim screen mesh from all redundant screens.
Participate in the printing preparation meeting.
Ensure that screens are prepared as per the production schedule.
Provide input in problem solving sessions and team meetings with the aim of improving performance of the printing department.
Adhere to 5S standards at all times.
Storage of flammable substances and chemicals in designated areas.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Grade 12 or equivalent with a pass in Mathematics.
1-2 years’ experience in Printing within a plastics manufacturing environment
Awareness of WCM practises. i.e. 5S, FI, VPM, Quality.
Able to work shifts.
