The Department of Student Administration is part of the Registrar’s portfolio. The department runs and co-ordinates many of the student-based administrative functions of the University e.g. admission and registration of students; administration of examinations and graduations; official release of results and academic transcripts; student cards (ID), and assisting students with a range of registration/enrolment related-matters. Our goal is to provide a professional, friendly and quality service in an efficient manner. Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the post of Coordinator: International Student Services. Reporting to the Deputy Registrar: Academic Administration, the incumbent will coordinate the functioning of the International Student Services unit which services the whole University in respect of the application, registration and ongoing administrative support of international students in all programmes of study.
The incumbent will also be expected to develop and maintain strong working relationships with the Department of Home Affairs, Foreign Embassies and University stakeholders to ensure adequate resolution of issues that international applicants and students may face. Additionally, the incumbent will also be expected to update and advise the Deputy Registrar: Academic Administration and the Office of the Registrar on all changes to immigration and other relevant policies that may impact on the study requirements of international students.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent (NQF7)
- Five years’ university administrative experience,
- Two to three years’ administrative experience dealing with international students
- At least one year’s experience in supervision of staff
- Working knowledge of legislation and policies in relation to study for international students and visa and study permit regulations
- High levels of honesty and integrity are essential
- Ability to work under pressure and be prepared to work after hours
- High energy levels over sustained periods of the academic cycle are required
