The Company Fleet Advisor will sell and provide spare and replacement parts for motor vehicles. They may have to identify the correct part or a suitable substitute based on their industry knowledge or the customer’s description of the problem. They also maintain inventory and track down rare parts for older vehicles.
The Company Fleet Advisor determines the correct replacement or spare part for a customer by having the customer describe the problem and searching catalogues for stock numbers and prices. He/she can explain how a part functions, demonstrate proper use of equipment and provide advice and installation instruction to customers.
The Company Fleet Advisor will also capture sales payments, order parts from manufacturers and keep up to date with stock levels. He/she will provide services over the telephone or via their company’s website.
Grade 12/Matric (Must)
Solid reading skills, communication skills and computer proficiency a must!
The ability to deal with customers, customer service experience of 3-5 years a must.
Shipping/logistic experience a plus or field-specific high school electives may increase employment opportunities. For example, a student pursuing work at an automobile dealership or repair shop may find automotive or mechanics courses to be beneficial.
The Company Fleet Advisor must also keep current with technological innovation to anticipate new customer demands.
