SATELLITE OPERATIONS

Comprises a diverse portfolio of operations that includes a 3 000 km network of natural gas, methane-rich gas, chemicals and fuel pipeline infrastructure, a wax blending plant and two explosives operations. In addition, we are responsible for operating assets owned by two joint ventures, namely Republic of Mozambique Pipeline Investment Company (Rompco) and Sasol Dyno Nobel (SDN).

ABOUT THE ROLE / PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To render effective and timeous administrative support, in terms of practices, procedures and governance, to the SHE: Occupational Safety team (Satellite Operations – Pipelines) i.e. it’s leaders, employees and customers.

FUNCTIONAL OUTPUTS

  • Perform clerical functions (such as diary management, preparing correspondence, receiving visitors, arranging conference calls, coordinating travel arrangements and providing effective technical support) as and when required (for Satellite locations – Pipelines)
  • Manage general office housekeeping for various senior managers
  • Effective handling and screening of telephone calls and meeting schedules. Prepare document packs and briefing notes prior to meetings
  • Control stock of stationery and office supplies and ensure payments to suppliers are made within the appropriate timelines
  • Ensure effective document management, data control and immediate availability of documentation and data to stakeholders
  • Provide IMS related support to all stake holders
  • Taking minutes during team meeting
  • Accurate and good report writing as well as meeting the deadlines
  • Work outputs meet quantity and timeline standards as per the Business Requirements
  • Accurate & innovative reporting, record-keeping and storing of relevant information and data
  • Provide inputs, make recommendations, plan, organise and maintain work practices that are reflective of integrated and optimal office management and administrative systems (e.g. financial practices, document and filing management, etc.) Develop and execute issue-based safety plans
  • Develop and provide input into systems and processes that enable effective and efficient administrative operations applications, administrative support functions, etc.)
  • Procure services and materials on relevant systems in accordance with Sasol policies and procedures
  • Ensure that sensitive information is handled in a confidential manner
  • Demonstrate understanding of relevant Sasol governing structures and guidelines
  • Ensure that work standards are in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Use, control and maintain all Satellite Operations (Pipelines) and Sasol equipment, time, infrastructure and other resources effectively and efficiently (costs and time)
  • Complete all tasks in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of financial planning and control principles
  • Ensure cost efficiency in day-to-day operations
  • Contribute to team targets in visible and measureable manner

Qualification and Experience

  • Grade 12 with minimum 5 years relevant administration experience
  • Relevant 2 year Certificate plus 3 years’ administration experience
  • Relevant Safety Diploma plus 1 year administration experience
  • Knowledge of Ms Excel and SAP System
